American Trails is administering this grant program, funded by the U.S. Forest Service through Legacy Roads and Trails Act dollars.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What the program does:<\/strong><br \/>\nEnables project partners to complete trails projects which improve watershed health, restore aquatic organism passages, preserve access, and decommission unauthorized and previously closed trails.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Target applicants:<\/strong><br \/>\nNonprofit organizations and non-Federal agencies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Typical project size:<\/strong><br \/>\nSmall projects may apply for between $5-20K. Large projects may apply for up to $100K.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum 50% match required:<\/strong><br \/>\nCash (preferred) or in-kind matches are allowable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funding cycle:<\/strong><br \/>\nOpens October 6 to December 15, 2022 for the 2023 field season.
