It is held annually on the fourth Saturday in September.\u00a0NPLD is also a\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.neefusa.org\/public-lands-engagement\/fee-free-days-provide-free-admission-national-parks-and-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cFee-Free Day\u201d<\/a><\/strong>\u2014entrance fees are waived at national parks and other public lands. NEEF (the National Environmental Education Foundation) coordinates National Public Lands Day.<\/p>\n<p>NPLD brings together hundreds of thousands of individual and organizational volunteers to help restore the country\u2019s public lands.\u00a0These are the places Americans use for outdoor recreation, education, and just plain enjoyment.\u00a0The lands encompass national parks, monuments, wildlife refuges, forests, grasslands, marine sanctuaries, lakes, and reservoirs, as well as state, county, and city parks that are managed by public agencies\u00a0but\u00a0belong to and are enjoyed by all of us.<\/p>\n<p>Through volunteer service on National Public Lands Day as well as grant support to local organizations, NEEF helps ensure people of all ages and abilities have the opportunity to connect with public lands for recreation, hands-on learning, and community-building\u2014now and in the future.\u00a0 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.neefusa.org\/npld\/site-managers\">LINK TO WEBSITE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 29th\u00a0annual National Public Lands Day celebration will take place on\u00a0Saturday, September 24, 2022.\u00a0The date is different every year, but it always\u00a0falls on the fourth Saturday in September.
