{"id":5885,"date":"2020-02-15T13:00:25","date_gmt":"2020-02-15T20:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sbbch.org\/?p=5885"},"modified":"2025-04-26T16:31:19","modified_gmt":"2025-04-26T22:31:19","slug":"field-notes-02-14-2020-national-wilderness-stewardship-alliance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbbch.org\/?p=5885","title":{"rendered":"Field Notes 02\/14\/2020 &#8211; National Wilderness Stewardship Alliance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Hike the Hill<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This week was the annual gathering of the national scenic and historic trail community in DC to educate Congress, meet with agencies, and build support for trails.\u00a0 NWSA was there along with <strong>Back Country Horsemen<\/strong> and other Wilderness groups to lend our voice and to expand opportunities for wilderness stewardship.<\/p>\n<p>We are happy to report that the Forest Service Chief took this opportunity to express her full support for Shared Stewardship and to renew the NFS Trail Stewardship Partner funding for $200,000 in 2020.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wildernessalliance.org\/funding_programs?e=26f50340a0f4234b4836eb62c6ce9400&amp;utm_source=wildernessalliance&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=friday_field_notes_2_14_2020&amp;n=2\">Find more details here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is in addition to the $200,000 already secured for Wilderness Stewardship Performance activities.<\/p>\n<p>Applications for both programs are due by March 30th.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Webinars<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday,\u00a0March 10\u00a0at 1:00 PM Mountain<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Leave No Trace\u00a0 \u2014 Refresher, Updates, Resources<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Erin Collier, Brice Esplin, and Faith Overall<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s new with Leave No Trace, and how can you incorporate the principles into your daily work?\u00a0 Erin Collier &amp; Brice Esplin, Subaru\/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers, will provide a general Leave No Trace refresher with an emphasis on updates, research, and resources, geared toward wilderness stewardship groups and agency partners.
