{"id":263,"date":"2010-01-21T07:07:21","date_gmt":"2010-01-21T14:07:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sbbch.org\/2010\/01\/21\/cowboy-polo\/"},"modified":"2025-04-26T16:31:34","modified_gmt":"2025-04-26T22:31:34","slug":"cowboy-polo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbbch.org\/?p=263","title":{"rendered":"Cowboy Polo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday night a number of Squaw Butte members and friends attended the first Arena Night ride.\u00a0 The facility, while still a work in progress had been freshly groomed and some new lights had just been installed.\u00a0 There is a lot of parking for trailers, and Ms Nielson team had a grill going and some cowboy music playing.\u00a0 Hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixing were available and very tasty.<\/p>\n<p>It was great to be in the saddle and Willow was full of winter energy.\u00a0\u00a0 After riding around a bit so he got use to the arena with it sights and sounds, we got out the brooms and ball and practiced swinging\u00a0 the boom past our stocks head and seeing if we could even hit the ball.\u00a0 It is a lot harder than you would think!\u00a0 It didn&#8217;t take long before the stock got use to this activity, so we set up a couple of cone goals and split into teams.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 That is when the laughter started and the fun began.\u00a0 Both horse and rider worked up a good sweat!
