{"id":2350,"date":"2015-04-06T06:02:48","date_gmt":"2015-04-06T13:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sbbch.org\/?p=2350"},"modified":"2025-04-26T16:31:28","modified_gmt":"2025-04-26T22:31:28","slug":"blm-4-h-youth-in-hand-trail-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbbch.org\/?p=2350","title":{"rendered":"BLM \/ 4-H Youth In-Hand Trail Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sbbch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IHC.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2351\" src=\"https:\/\/sbbch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IHC.jpg\" alt=\"IHC\" width=\"220\" height=\"110\" \/><\/a>Since 2009, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)\u00a0and the University of Idaho 4-H Youth Development have<br \/>\npartnered to offer an educational opportunity and fundraiser\u00a0for Idaho 4-H Horse Clubs. 4-H members gentle and train\u00a0weanlings (ages 4 months to 8 months).<\/p>\n<p>This year, eight 4-H horse\u00a0clubs picked out weanling mustangs in February, to gentle\u00a0and train. 4-H youth and their weanlings will compete at the\u00a0Expo in an In-Hand Trail competition class in the D &amp; B Supply\u00a0Round Pen, on Saturday 2:45 \u2013 3:30, and Sunday, 9:15 \u2013 10:00.<\/p>\n<p>A demonstration will also be held on Sunday, in the Boot\u00a0Barn Main Arena, Noon \u2013 1:00. These weanlings will be up\u00a0for adoption, by silent auction, on Sunday, after 2:00 pm. All\u00a0proceeds from the adoption over $25 will go back to the individual\u00a04-H clubs to help cover the cost of the training program, and\u00a0other events.<\/p>\n<p>Through this hugely successful\u00a0partnership, BLM has adopted over 100 wild mustangs\u00a0to loving families and homes from across Idaho.
