The life you save my be your own.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STOP<\/strong> \u2013 Horses spook easily, and may perceive movement, especially quiet movement, as a predator \u2014 and bolt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TALK<\/strong> \u2013 Human speech is reassuring and comforting for the horse. Continue to talk until the horse has passed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MOVE DOWN<\/strong> \u2013 to the low side of the trail. If horse gets spooked, you don\u2019t want it going off the steep side or horse and rider can be injured.
