A<br \/>\nfibrous band of scar tissue that binds together normally separate anatomical structures.<\/p>\n<p>Amniotic Sac &#8211; am\u00b7ni\u00b7o tic \u00a0&#8211; A thin, tough, membranous sac that encloses the embryo or fetus of a<br \/>\nmammal, bird, or reptile. It is filled with a serous fluid in which the embryo is suspended.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stepaheadfarm.com\/AvascularNecroticBone.html\">Avascular necrotic bone<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; a\u00b7vas\u00b7cu\u00b7lar &#8211; ne\u00b7cro\u00b7tic &#8211; Not associated with or supplied by blood vessels. &#8211; Death<br \/>\nof cells or tissues through injury or disease, especially in a localized area of the body. Failure of tissues to<br \/>\nadhere correctly to the bone.<\/p>\n<p>Catastrophic &#8211; cat\u00b7a\u00b7stroph\u00b7ic -Involving or resulting in substantial, often ruinous medical expense: a<br \/>\ncatastrophic illness.<\/p>\n<p>Suture &#8211; su\u00b7ture &#8211; The fine thread or other material used surgically to close a wound or join tissues.<\/p>\n<p>Cellulitis &#8211; cel\u00b7lu\u00b7li\u00b7tis &#8211; A spreading inflammation of subcutaneous or connective tissue.<\/p>\n<p>Debride &#8211; To remove debris, non-beneficial tissue, etc.<\/p>\n<p>De-gloving &#8211; The peeling away of the skin and subcutaneous layer in an injury.<\/p>\n<p>Epithelial border &#8211; ep\u00b7i\u00b7the\u00b7li\u00b7al &#8211; Membranous tissue composed of one or more layers of cells separated by<br \/>\nvery little intercellular substance and forming the covering of most internal and external surfaces of the<br \/>\nbody and its organs. The epithelial border is this tissue development along the outer edge of a wound.<\/p>\n<p>Granulation bed &#8211; gran\u00b7u\u00b7la\u00b7tion \u00a0&#8211; Small, fleshy, beadlike protuberances, consisting of outgrowths of new<br \/>\ncapillaries, on the surface of a wound that is healing. Also called granulation tissue.<\/p>\n<p>Laceration &#8211; lac\u00b7er\u00b7a\u00b7tion &#8211; A jagged wound or cut.<\/p>\n<p>Lamina &#8211; lam\u00b7i\u00b7na &#8211; A thin scalelike or platelike structure, as one of the thin layers of sensitive vascular<br \/>\ntissue in the hoof of a horse<\/p>\n<p>Macrophage &#8211; mac\u00b7ro\u00b7phage &#8211; Any of the large phagocytic cells of the reticuloendothelial system.<\/p>\n<p>Neutrophil &#8211; neu\u00b7tro\u00b7phil &#8211; A neutrophil cell, especially an abundant type of granular white blood cell that<br \/>\nis highly destructive of microorganisms<\/p>\n<p>Occlusive &#8211; oc\u00b7clu sive &#8211; To cause to become closed; obstruct: occlude an artery. To prevent the passage of:<br \/>\nocclude light; occlude the flow of blood. Chemistry To absorb or adsorb and retain (a substance).<\/p>\n<p>Placental tissue &#8211; pla\u00b7cen\u00b7tal \u00a0&#8211; A membranous vascular organ that develops in female mammals during<br \/>\npregnancy, lining the uterine wall and partially enveloping the fetus, to which it is attached by the<br \/>\numbilical cord.
